A company is only as good as its people, which is why Total Carbide places heavy emphasis on staff development and retention. By working closely with local educational establishments, we mentor students and prepare them for a career. Total Carbide is committed to an apprenticeship scheme which attracts young people and offers both formal education and on-the-job training from some of the most skilled and experienced technicians in the country.

Environment
Efficiency through general care for the planet is high on our agenda. The raw materials we use are increasingly scarce and Total Carbide is continually investigating the potentials of improvements to material utilizations.
Internal programmes encourage staff to avoid waste and unnecessary use of energy and water. These are reviewed and debated regularly with all staff actively encouraged to put forward their own ideas.
